The design of the new Samsung Galaxy S series smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S4, it is said to be similar with the design of it’s predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy S3. However, the edges will be smaller, in order to allow the screen to get even wider, while the device will be available in 5 different colors: black, white, gray, red and blue. Rumors say that the new Samsung Galaxy S4 won’t feature a physical button anymore (except of the sided one) in order to increase the size of the display.
If we return to the Samsung Galaxy S2 and take a look to this device, we’ll see a simple, elegant, classy smartphone. Unlike the Samsung Galaxy S4, the Galaxy S2 is available only on two colors, black and white, and back in February 2011 it was the thinnest smartphone ever built.

While the Samsung Galaxy S2 went out back in February 2011 at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the Samsung Galaxy S4 is awaited by everyone. The guys at The Korean Times (the oldest English-language newspaper in South Korea) are known for their good relationship with Samsung employees. They found out that the latest Samsung Galaxy S series smartphone will be launched in February 2013, also at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, and will be released in March 2013. This seems quite incredible if we take a second and think that the Samsung Galaxy S3 (it’s predecessor) needed about two months to become available all over the world.

The Galaxy S4 -- which ultimately might be branded Galaxy S IV -- will feature wireless charging as a key feature. But unlike other smartphones such as the Nokia Lumia 920 or Droid DNA, the service won't be built-in. Users will have to buy a kit with a wireless charging station and replacement cover, according to the report.

The successor to Samsung Electronics' blockbuster Galaxy S3 could launch in April.
That's according to Samsung news Web site SamMobile, which pegs the phone's launch on April 15.
The Galaxy S franchise has emerged as a true competitor to the iPhone, and garners as much hype and anticipation as Apple's marquee smartphone. While early iterations of the Galaxy S phone faced a slow start, the Galaxy S3 catapulted out of the gate as a smash hit, and has held up remarkably well even as other competitive phones have faded. The phone has helped propel Samsung into the top spot among handset vendors.

Update 07/02/13: A new rumour reported to Sammobile from a "trusted insider" at Samsung pegs the Galaxy S4 release for March 15, 2013. Apparently, the handset will then go on sale in the second week of April, with Europe getting first dibs.

We originally had our rumourscope centred on a snifter of the Samsung Galaxy S4 at the Mobile World Congress trade show in Barcelona in February – but that admittedly is far too tight a timeline for a new flagship device.
 
The Korean Times reported that Samsung was planning to unveil the Galaxy S4 in March, but the higher-ups at Samsung took to Twitter to shoot down that particular rumour themselves.

Translated from Korean, the tweet read: "Please note that some media reported speculation that the Galaxy S subsequent models will be released is a simple rumor is not true. [If] not doing anything, why spread these rumors?"

Despite this protestation, we imagine a mid-2013 release date isn’t far off the mark. The Samsung Galaxy S3 was revealed in May, so it’s reasonable to assume Samsung will follow the same pattern with the next generation. That would allow it to steal a march on a possible iPhone 5S.

Samsung Galaxy S4 – Specs

According to Korean website Ddaily, the Samsung Galaxy S4 will arrive toting a quad-core Exynos processor built on the 28nm microarchitecture standard. Essentially, this is a smaller, faster Exynos (Samsung’s own custom processors) than is currently tucked away inside the Samsung Galaxy S3.

Newer processors, along with increased speed, focus on improving efficiency between cores. This should mean that the Samsung Galaxy S4 can boast more processes and a longer battery life than we’ve previously seen in a handheld.

Other specs include a 13MP rear-facing camera and, of course, the aforementioned 1080p screen.

Samsung has confirmed it is working on flexible displays and rumours are already circulating that the Korean giant is planning to utilise this technology for the Galaxy S4.

Flexible displays are "foldable, rollable, wearable and more, [and] will allow for a high degree of durability through their use of a plastic substrate that is thinner, lighter and more flexible than conventional LCD technology," a Samsung spokesperson told the BBC.

The flexible OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) screen on the Galaxy S4 would also likely be Full HD with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 or higher and would be a full five inches across. Which is encroaching on Samsung Galaxy Note II territory.
